Ed Martin is a brother in the Seattle Church who had a dream to begin a quarterly newsletter as a forum for disciples serving in the military. He currently serves in the United States Coast Guard in Seattle, WA. He originally entered military service in July, 1982.

While assigned in Massachusetts in September, 1984, he was baptized in the Boston Church of Christ and has since been a member of the San Francisco, California, Washington D.C. and Tampa, Florida Churches of Christ before moving to Seattle. He has a wife, Jennifer and three children, Cameron, Brianna, and Sierra.
